Waterfront Restoration's mission is to preserve Minnesota lakes and protect them from these invasive species and other AIS threats.
Job DescriptionThe Watercraft Inspector position serves to inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS) to Minnesota's waters. Inspectors will undergo training of MN DNR protocols and perform thorough inspections on all entering or exiting watercraft at multiple lakes throughout Ramsey County. Inspectors will work at public water access sites educating the public by providing information to watercraft users and conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species.
Part Time Positions: Mid-May through September
Must be available weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Duties:
Educate the public on the AIS program and current issuesInspection of watercraft for invasive species (inbound and outbound)Conduct verbal surveysDocumentation of inspection activitiesMaintain current knowledge of best practices while inspecting watercraftQualifications:
Verbal communication and customer relations experienceAbility to coordinate multiple tasks in a professional mannerWillingness to work outdoors in the various Minnesota weather conditionsWilling to work weekends and holidays. Shifts will be on Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's within your availability.Requires walking, standing, and moving about the boat launch area to a significant degree depending on traffic
