Their primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and supervision of all patients with psychiatric disorders or substance abuse issues in the intake area. This inludes checking patients into the admissions area when they arrive and inventorying their belongings. The Intake Coordinator will make and answer phone calls, file paperwork, and do other administrative work that is asked of them by the Director of Admissions. The Intake Coordinator will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Admissions.Key Responsibilities Assists in completing Admissions packets and organizing files in the Admissions drive. Assists the department with scheduling admissions and notifying parents/guardians of items needed for admission. Provides backup for Admissions Assistant and Director of Admissions. Returns phone calls in a timely manner. Demonstrates consistent ability to problem-solve & communicate clearly, both verbally & in writing. Displays an understanding of the basic concepts of safe, supportive, nurturing, & therapeutic human interactions. Qualifications Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. College coursework in psychology or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field strongly preferred. One year of related experience required, with knowledge of patient care techniques regarding co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients with understanding of co-occurring disorders, preferred. One year of work experience with a Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field can be used in lieu of related experience. Strongly prefer a minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric hospital or outpatient setting as well as some experience with clerical or administrative work.
