Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of two years of nursing experience required, with the ability to circulate for C-sections and triage for obstetrics. License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse. Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- AWHONN (intermediate) Must-Have: - ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing- Strong clinical nursing skills- Competence in patient care with complex problems Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.- Attend education programs based on identified learning needs.- Use patient education materials relevant to the patient population.- Assess readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers.- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in revision of care plans.- Participate in discussions with the interdisciplinary team for evaluation of patient care.- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.- Demonstrate competence in the care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.- Consult with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or those at high risk for discharge planning.- Develop goals to promote professional growth.- Achieve goals and objectives within an identified time frame or renegotiate with a supervisor.- Participate in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families.- Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update the care plan.- Use multidisciplinary resources in planning care, addressing cultural and ethnic needs.- Read journals that contain studies or articles applicable to practice and share ideas with the staff.
