Full Time Accountant
for its Finance Department located in
Newark, New Jersey .
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the overall financial activities and a function of a major not-for-profit social service organization includes analytical review of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in accordance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principlesPrepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account informationDocument financial transactions by entering account informationRecommend financial actions by analyzing accounting optionsSummarize current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reportsSubstantiate financial transactions by auditing documentsSCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pmIDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES & SKILLS:
Strong analytical and communication skillsExcellent knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including ExcelAbility to rapidly learn and use the Agency's data financial system to ensure timely and accurate closings of the Agency's financial systemAbility to work closely with program managers to ensure accurate reporting of transaction according to approved internal and government budgetsJOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field required1 to 3 years of experience in finance, business or accounting is preferred but not required
