Job Title: Registered NurseJob Specialty: ICUJob Duration: 13 weeksShift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)Guaranteed Hours: Not specifiedExperience: Minimum of 1-year acute care experience requiredLicense: Valid state license (pending license approval acceptable)Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH requiredMust-Have: Epic charting experience preferredJob Description:- Float required across metro facilities- Average daily census of 14 with 16 rooms and 16 beds- Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics with a staff-patient ratio of 1:2- Coverage required every other weekend- Documentation system: Epic required- Handle patient diagnoses such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, distal bypass, sepsis, trauma, bowel perforation, arterial thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and free flap for oral/facial/pharyngeal reconstruction- Work in a Level 1 Trauma facility, dedicated trauma ICU unit requiring TNCC or TCAR certification and NIH stroke certification- Resident physician coverage provided 24/7- Special equipment experience required: Nx-Stage CRRT, Belmont rapid infuser, Hot line fluid warmer, Artic Sun for targeted temperature management, EKOS- Work in surgical intensive care unit with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Endocrine/metabolic management includes IV insulin protocols- Proficient in IV therapy including accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, and starting IVs- Administer continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, titrate cardiac drips, and titrate vasoactive drips- Neurological care, including CVA/acute stroke management- Respiratory/thoracic care includes managing ventilated patients, using high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpreting ABGs, and suctioning (ETT, NT)- Emphasis on professional topics and skills such as infection prevention, isolation precautions, and use of PPE- Conduct phlebotomy and manage surgical wounds with drains/wound vac- Schedule changes may occur based on staffing needs with a two-week notice provided- COVID-19 vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only- Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only- Travel pairs are accepted, with guidelines for related or unrelated submissions- Completion of a basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam is required for specific units. Candidates have two chances to pass, with remediation available if the first attempt is unsuccessful.- For facilities in specific regions, fingerprinting may be required with a lead time of 4-6 weeks for results.
