**Security Officer I - Health First Safety, Corporate, Part Time**Location Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, United States Category Facility Services 052262 **Shift Times** Variable JOB DESCRIPTION Security Officer I - Health First Safety, Corporate, Part Time - 052262 ****POSITION SUMMARY To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship through unarmed security services to ensure the safety and security of associates, patients, and visitors of Health First facilities. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Deters criminal activity and misconduct; investigates suspicious situations; performs security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle 2. Communicates via 2-way radios, telephones and computers 3. Watches for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards 4. Sounds alarms or calls police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons 5. Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking or carrying prohibited articles 6. Permits authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits 7. Observes departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate physical security requirements 8. Conducts patient escorts, patient watches, and provides safety escorts 9. Assists and/or transports deceased to morgue 10.Completes required shift logs and reports; complies with site post orders, and Health First policies and procedures 11.Investigates and prepares reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities 12.Assists associates, patients, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner 13.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed by department supervision 14.Maintains required certifications, licensing, and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position ** Qualifications**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* **Experience:**+ Associates hired after April 1, 2021 must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes+ At least one (1) year verifiable work experience preferably in courier, security, or customer service role* **Licensure:**+ Current, valid State of Florida drivers license required for associates hired after April 1, 2021+ Clean State of Florida Motor Vehicle Record+ Class D Security Officer License preferred* **Certification:**+ Must complete American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Course within 60 days of hire and maintain certification* **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**+ Expected completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days+ Physical ability to deal with or subdue mental health patient in crisis+ Must be willing to carry out tasks that may require entering the hospital morgue and the roof-top helipad+ Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors+ Ability to actively listen, interact cordially and effectively communicate with the public+ Effective oral and written communication skills+ Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively+ Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately+ Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversation and symbols in the English language+ Attention to detail**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Must be able to climb up to nine (9) flights of stairs* Must be able to withstand extreme heat and cold* Must be able to listen, speak, walk, stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time, for assigned shift* Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 pounds* Must be able & willing to properly wear Personal Protective mask & gloves for assigned shift* Must be able to respond within 90-seconds of an urgent duress call**Job**: Security **Organization**: Health First, Incorporated **Primary Location**: United States-Florida - Brevard County-Melbourne **Schedule**: Full-time Shift Times : Variable **Job Level**: Associate ****Location Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida, United States Location Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, United States Location Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, United States Location Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, United States Location Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, United States
