Job Summary:
The Machinists assembles, repairs and fabricates metallic and nonmetallic parts, by operating mechanical equipment. Fits and assembles machined parts sub-part and/or complete units. Using blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques, operating conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Light programming, training with the Lead MachinistRun all CNC and manual machines as instructedOperate all manual machines as instructedAssist and programming in Guide stockRelief and fill in lead surface grindersGuide stock reliefWork with Precision Grinder on straight edges, fill in on this position when neededPerform daily and weekly maintenance on machine shop equipment as neededOther fill in positions as needed
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:Prior experience in machine center or general manual machining and manufacturingPrior experience of CNC operationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Can substitute education with years of experience related to this position.
