About this role
Alumni Ventures is seeking a full-time Fund Accountant that is looking for an opportunity to grow and be mentored in the exciting venture capital space.
The role requires a diverse knowledge of accounting and reporting in addition to strong general ledger skills analytical and interpersonal skills as well as full cycle accounting experience. The Fund Accountant will provide general accounting function from data entry through general ledger close and reconciliation.
This position is based out of Alumni Ventures' Manchester, NH office. Alumni Ventures is a fast-paced, professional, entrepreneurial environment.
Role/Responsibilities
Perform daily accounting of assigned series fundsPerform month end reconciliations and bank account closings as neededPerform fund analysis and reporting to use in critical decision-making purposesWork with outside tax consultants related to annual K-1 tax activitiesSuggest process improvements to enhance daily activity execution as well as preparation of financial performanceAssist in generating routine and ad-hoc financial statements for management reviewRespond to inquiries in a timely fashionResolve accounting variancesInterface with investor relations, investment team, legal, corporate accounting, and executive management on fund related topicsGather relevant investment documentationDevelop a working knowledge of what investment capital structures are to assist in recording portfolio company valuation updatesWork with the Fund Accounting team on time sensitive projects and initiatives to support Company's goals.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting/business managementOne to three years accounting experienceIntermediate accounting skills along with strong analytical skills and abilitiesExcellent computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to work in a team environment and willingness to train in all areas of accountingExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and must be able to effectively interact with internal staff and external entities and service providers
Salary:
$80,000-$90,000 plus equity and bonus
