Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year A bit about us: As a Senior Property Accountant in the Commercial Real Estate division, you will play a pivotal role in our Mortgage Industry team. Your expertise in financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger, CAM reconciliations, and lease accounting will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio of properties. Your role will not just be limited to crunching numbers but will also involve strategizing and problem-solving to ensure the profitability and growth of our assets. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal Senior Accountant has experience utilizing Yardi, as well as experience working in commercial real estate. The Senior Accountant has experience reviewing leases, as well as CAM reconciliations and property accounting. This is an ideal role for someone looking to grow from a strong Staff Accountant into a Senior Accountant role or a current Senior Accountant looking for long term advancement. Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 2. Perform regular reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accrued expenses. 3. Manage the general ledger, including posting journal entries and maintaining an accurate chart of accounts. 4. Conduct CAM reconciliations and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. 5. Oversee lease accounting, including recording new leases, amendments, terminations, and other lease events. 6. Collaborate with the property management team to ensure accurate reporting of property-level financials. 7. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for assigned properties. 8. Participate in the annual audit process, providing necessary information and documentation to auditors. 9. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 10. Stay updated with industry trends and changes in accounting standards and regulations. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the commercial real estate sector. 3. Proficiency in financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger, CAM reconciliations, and lease accounting. 4. Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. 5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 6. Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 9. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. 10. CPA designation or candidacy is a plus.
