JOB SUMMARYResponsible for maintaining sterile supply area. Ensure operating suite is adequately prepared for each procedure; and decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment following established infection control practices. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Reports to Operating Room Manager and Director of Surgical Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Education/Regulatory Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent.Basic CPR.
Skills:Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.Knowledge of medical terminology and instruments used by the department.Knowledgeable with cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques.Basic understanding of various functions of the department.
