Job Description:Phlebotomist Clerical Support

Obtains blood specimens, in a courteous and professional manner, from patients of all age ranges.

SKILLS AND ABILITIESDemonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the positionDemonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipmentExhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the publicExhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision in all situations including traumasMust have legible handwritingMaintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job locationEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferredRegistered as a Certified Laboratory Phlebotomist with a national certification agency for medical laboratory personnel or the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or show proof of pending recertification preferredEXPERIENCE

Working knowledge of, but not limited to: HIS and LIS computer Systems and related equipment, 5-line telephone, Vacutainer System-syringes, butterfly needles, safety needles, finger-heelstick devices, autoclave and bar code printers preferredGENERAL INFORMATION
