SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provide technician level support to production and engineering projects as it relates to adjustments for injection molds used in the thermoplastic black and thermoplastic clear production areas. Support will include mold setup, adjustments, cleaning, and maintenance for acceptable quality level products. Complete and accurate records of all activities must be created and maintained.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
•Take direction from Engineers and Supervisors in support of current projects and production requirements
•Perform mold maintenance, troubleshoot quality issues, and / or make necessary mold changes due to quality deviations
•Modify and / or adjust mold components according to established policies and procedures to obtain acceptable quality levels
•Establish and maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all mold adjustment, maintenance, and change activities
•Interpret plastic part measurement data and share results with the team to assist in making decisions
•Follows and understands quality control systems associated with parts and tooling
•Assist with periodic product and process qualifications as required
•Additional duties and / or overtime work may be required as needed
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
•Minimum of Journeyman Mold Making or Apprenticeship preferred along with an Associate's Degree in engineering field, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering
•Minimum 3 years' experience in a medium volume injection molding manufacturing environment
•Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in injection molds, precision measurement devices, engineering grade materials, and basic manual shop equipment
•Experience working with very small mold components with the assistance of microscopes
•Creative thinking, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
•General PC skills with standard MS Office software
