Welder III7:00 am to 3:30 pmContract to Hire$30.00 -$31.00 hr.
Perform a variety of electric arc, inert gas and heliarc welding in flat, horizontal and vertical and overhead positions on structural apparatus or metal precuts including pre-heated, stress-relieved work requiring root penetration which may be subject to Magnaflux, x-ray or pressure-tight welding testInterpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process, including weld requirement symbologyWork with stainless steel onlySet up and calibrate power supply with the correct welding programWeld together metal components of products such as piping systems, pipe and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipmentPerform less complex TIG welds (hand) 1/8-1/4 inchPerform tack weldsPerform most complex TIG welds (hand) greater than ¼ inchMaintain regular checks on welding equipment ensuring that machines are operating properlyWork towards welder certification trainingPlan work and selects proper tools working within precise limits or standards of accuracyVisualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawingsCompare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objectsManipulate parts to match print and dimensional specificationsComplete parts to acceptable standards ensuring customer satisfactionMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulationsJoin, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniquesKnowledge of wire and filler materials applications for stainless steel materialMay work with fixturing, Acon Table, and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Work with conventional and precision measuring instrumentsMay conduct process and peer inspectionMay perform limited E/M assemblyUnderstand weld logsEducational and Experience Requirements:High School Diploma from a technical schoolTIG welding knowledge and experience4+ years of related experienceForklift and overhead crane certification may be required
