PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in the accurate planning, reporting, and analysis of ComEds annual 5-year Long Range Plan (LRP) and monthly Latest Estimate (LE) forecasts. This position is also responsible for building and maintaining ComEds Transmission and Distribution revenue models, ensuring accurate financial statement reporting and supporting regulatory proceeds and rate filings.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESSupport the development of the LRP and LE forecasts by ensuring all forecast elements are prepared according to approved methodologies, incorporating the latest historical data, regulatory assumptions, and corporate assumptionsAnalyze financial results and prepare presentations to effectively communicate financial performance to senior managementLead each monthly financial closing (pre and post close work), providing all required reporting to directors and VPPrepare and review month-end, quarterly, and full-year forecast/reports up to and including monthly financial packages, executive quarterly management, and board meeting presentationsWork with multiple finance and data systems to complete timely and accurate reporting to management for standard reporting and ad hoc analysisIdentify operational process inefficiencies through variance reporting and recommend necessary improvementsIndividual must be flexible, proactive, and able to work with ambiguity. Individual must be able to commit to the time requirements of this position, which may demand extended hours as requiredQualificationsPOSITION SPECIFICATIONS

4-year degree in a business-related field with 5 to 8 years business-related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operationsEffective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics, and financial statement relationshipsThorough computer-based analytical skills (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA/CPA preferredExperience with Financial Systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
