Summary/Objective
A CNC Machinist will run a variety of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines to help enhance the overall productivity. In addition, a Machinist will perform sets-up and operate a variety of measuring machine tools, to produce precision parts.
Essential Functions for the CNC Machinist Role:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specification to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequences of operations and setup requirementsEdit CNC ProgrammingStart and oversee machine operations to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust offsets as requiredSelect tools and materials for assigned work orders from Production setup sheetsProof read new programs to ensure that the machinery will function properlyResponsible for the selection, alignment and securing of holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machinesDocument discrepancy and issues per proceduresPerform preventive maintenance as required to maintain high level of work center performanceSupport all regulations and requirements that are necessary for ISO-9001 and ISO-140001Perform other duties as requiredServe as team member and resource for other departmentsActively participates in problem prevention and problem solving as part of Corken's ongoing program of continuous improvementBe available and receptive to all training for ongoing self-developmentPlan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor's instruction to maximize personal outputResponsible for keeping immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety and qualityReport any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate manager and human resources for immediately correctionRequired Education and Experience for the CNC Machinist Role:
High School Diploma or GED requiredTwo (2) years of CNC machining experience within the past five (5) years or Trade or Vocational School specifically focused on MachiningUnderstanding of basic programing of CNCAbility to read and understand blueprintsAbility to use standard precision measuring toolsAbility to perform basic math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percent conversion)Must be able to safely perform single or repeated manual lifts of up to
50 lbs
.Preferred Education and Experience for the CNC Machinist Role:
Two (2) plus years of CNC machining experienceWork Environment for the CNC Machinist Role:
Exposure to manufacturing environment.Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area.Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
