Job Details
The Property Accountant will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including general operations accounting, accrual preparation, and recording, internal control monitoring, audit coordination, and other ad hoc duties. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, public accounting experience, a strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Record journal entries as part of the monthly close processPrepare accruals for month-end and quarter-end reportingConduct monthly analyses on operational resultsPerform monthly analysis related to working interest and NRIComplete financial trend analysis and communicate findings to managementPrepare journal entries and analyses for acquisitions and divestituresAssist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controlsSupport the coordination of external auditsProvide support for special projects and other assigned duties
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or BusinessCPA certification or progress towards CPA is preferredExperience in public accounting is highly desirable but not requiredExperience in oil and gas auditing or industry experience is a plus, though not mandatory
