As an Intern in our State and Local Tax (SALT) service line, you will be responsible for the following:Prepare state and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts and its related income tax work papersPrepare indirect state tax returns for multiple entitiesPrepare and respond to technical correspondences from taxing authoritiesIdentify accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve themComplete a variety of projects within engagement timeline and budget guidelinesLearn and effectively utilize firm tax preparation software to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance the quality of service to clientsPerform self-review of workPerform tax technical research assigned by supervisorsDevelop strong relationships with firm professionalsParticipate in firm training and activitiesWork with your buddy and performance manager on professional development of both technical and soft skills.To be successful, these are the skills, qualities and experience you will need:

On track to completing a bachelor's degree in accounting or a master's degree in accounting or taxation between December 2025 - July 2026Available to work 40 hours a week from Mid-June through Mid-AugustMinimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organizationStrong technical aptitude and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skillsExhibit leadership skills that demonstrate strong judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesAble to learn in a fast paced environment and receptive to feedback and coachingAbility to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative on projectsHigh attention to detailA positive attitude and is a team player mentality with a can-do spiritHow to Apply:

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable salary estimate for this position is $35.00 per hour and it is eligible for a one-time program completion bonus.
