GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the Business Programs division by performing a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks. This position will offer excellent customer service when responding to calls and assisting students, visitors, and other personnel, including staff members and faculty. This position reports to the Division Chair of Business Programs and exercises no supervision.
NOTE:
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired:
Knowledge of:
1. WECM and ACGM courses as they pertain to degrees and certificates; 2. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; 3. Principles and practices of confidential records management and file maintenance, both physical and electronic; 4. Pertinent Federal, State, and college laws, rules, and regulations; 5. Various electronic equipment, such as computers, scanners, copiers, recording devices, etc.; 6. Office procedures, method and practices;
Skills in : 7. Microsoft Office and additional applicable software; 8. Effective communication, both orally and in writing; 9. Basic record keeping, correspondence, and proofreading;
Ability to:
10. Execute superior customer services when dealing with diverse populations; 11. Perform responsible secretarial work involving use of independent judgement and personal initiatives; 12. Organize and prioritize projects to meet deadlines; 13. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those in contact in the course of work;
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
