Overview:

Position will play an active role in the organizations treasury activities including capital and debt management andprovides support to the creation and maintenance of a centralized real estate function. Responsible for financial andstrategic analysis of various projects including long-term capital market financings, business and capital planning.Responsibilities:Capital and Debt ManagementParticipate in the long-term capital markets activities, including public debt financings andrefunding of existing debt to optimize the organizations capital structure.Support the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range capital planning processes including workingclosely with key stakeholders in the markets, supply chain and finance to track capital spend andanalyze the impact on financial operations.Responsible for accounting and recording how bond proceeds are spent (including investmentearnings and reimbursement of expenditures made before issuance).Coordinate interest and principal payments with bondholders and markets.Monitor compliance with the various bond agreements including financial and other non-taxcovenants and requirements, annual and quarterly filings, arbitrage calculations, and notificationsof material events.Organize bond draws, create amortization schedules, and track loans to markets.Prepare and disseminate officers certificates, reports, and supporting schedules in accordancewith the credit agreements.Use operational expertise to seek out, research and evaluate a variety of solutions to provideclients with high quality, efficient products.70%Centralized Real EstateSupport the establishment of an in-house centralized real estate division.Participate in development and utilization of a consistent lease administration structure that can bereplicated across the System and leveraged for optimal buying power.Partake in the design and scope policies, procedures, and databases incorporating best practicesfor real estate decision making going forward.Facilitate a standard package of terms and conditions, with baseline qualifications, for working withkey real estate vendors including developers, contractors, architects for new or existing facilities.Maintain a strong focus on process improvement opportunities to increase the efficiency and/oreffectiveness of the function. 20%Performs special projects, as requested, for the System Services Treasury Department.Basic UPH Performance CriteriaDemonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres topolicies and procedures and safety guidelines.Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatoryagencies guiding healthcare.Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally fundedhealthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings anyquestions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrativestaff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Requirements Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position. Preferred or Specialized Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.Education:Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fieldExperience:Requires minimum of five years experience in accounting or finance. Experience with financial analysis required. Prior Real Estate and/or Treasury experience required.License(s)/Certification(s):Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Strong Excel skills required. Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.Other:Occasional travel within the UPH footprint will be necessary.
