Northmarq is seeking an
Asset
Management Analyst
who will assist the Asset Management departments in all departmental responsibilities to include financial analysis, physical asset inspections, risk management and watch loan oversight, collateral monitoring, and many types of customer requests received by the borrower or management team responsible for the property.
*This position is an in-office position, with an immediate start date.
Position Responsibilities:Assist the Chief Asset Manager, Deputy Chief Asset Manager, and all Asset Managers in the department with the following functions:
Internal and external reporting.Review new borrower welcome letter, loan amortization schedule, and first billing statement received from servicing vendor for accuracy. Correct any inconsistencies and forward, via email to the borrower including instructions on how to obtain future billing statements online and assist in the completion of ACH payment request.Conduct an audit of the new loan setup on FICS (Northmarq's Asset Servicing Application) and compare it to loan documents for accuracy and completeness. Provide findings to cashiering vendor to make corrections where appropriate.Complete Fannie Mae forms and authorization for new custodial accounts.Analysis of quarterly operating statements for each asset in a portfolio to determine cash flows, net operating income, debt service coverage, and financial trending.Physical on-site property inspections; this includes interviewing on-site management along with walking units, common areas, and the exterior of the property to determine quality.Submit property-specific analyzed financial data along with property inspection forms to Fannie Mae promptly.Monitor and administer all collateral accounts to include Replacement Reserves, Repairs, Achievement Escrows, or other types. This includes analyzing invoices, payment receipts, and pictures to determine the validity of draw requests and authorization of the disbursement is approved. Ensure associated deadlines per the Agreements are met including any letter or credit expiration.Monitor properties that have insurance casualty losses to include notification to Fannie Mae and obtaining all necessary documentation to place funds in escrow and process draw requests as required.Use Enterprise! (Northmarq's Asset Servicing Application) to manage details of each account and be able to provide the borrower with up-to-date information on their loan as day-to-day requests are needed.Work with Fannie Mae, Northmarq's legal counsel, and borrowers in creating or extending deal-specific agreements; these agreements include but are not limited to Amendments to and Replacements of Completion/Repair and Earn-out Agreements.Work with Northmarq contacts regarding issues such as loan payment, new account set-up, taxes, and insurance regarding properties in the portfolio.Monitor loans with higher risk profiles through Risk Ratings and Watch Loan processes including internal Risk Rating and Watch Loan processes, submission of Action Plans to Fannie Mae, and participating in Fannie Mae run conference calls to discuss Watch Loans.Process requests related to transfers, assumptions, management changes, partial releases of security, and condemnation actions.Monitor and ensure all loan conditions are properly tracked and being complied with through new loan setup activities and appropriate follow-up ticklers and correspondence.Process requests for Pay-offs, Loan Payment History, and Audit ConfirmationsPhysical on-site property inspections (limited travel after 1 year of employment); this includes interviewing on-site management along with walking units, common areas, and the exterior of the property to determine quality.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the finance, real estate, or accounting area.One to two years' experience. Background in commercial lending or servicing is a plus.Strong skills in all Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc)Strong analytical and modeling skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer service orientedStrong organizational and prioritization skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team, with minimal supervisionAbility to manage multiple projects and assignments; able to prioritize and meet deadlinesDemonstrated work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessaryDiligence and accuracy requiredCritical thinking skills to reflect the level of responsibilitiesAbility to maintain sensitive and confidential informationAbility to maintain a positive attitude in all situations
