Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state RN license Certifications: Required certifications based on state and departmental needs Must-Have: - Epic experience- Recent Trauma Level One Experience- 1.5 years experience in a 600+ bed academic hospital or 2 years total of traveling and permanent experience Job Description: - Provide specialized care to critically ill adults (14 and older) with a variety of complex conditions.- Care for a patient population with a 50/50 split between neuro and surgical needs.- Manage life-threatening conditions related to major surgical procedures, multi-trauma, brain injuries, spinal injuries, stroke, seizures, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, and failure to wean.- Perform comprehensive physical assessments, intensive monitoring, treatment of laboratory values, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.- Demonstrate competency with ICP monitoring, spinal drains, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, and continuous renal replacement therapy.- Support on-unit procedures such as placement of arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and pigtail drains.- Handle massive blood transfusions and reconstructive flap monitoring.- Be ready to float to other units if required.Apply today to join a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality patient care in a demanding and dynamic environment.
