Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation's Bank Franchise Tax team is seeking an Agency Management Analyst to support the administration of the organization's online bank franchise tax initiative. The selected candidate will assist with reviewing and approving bank franchise tax returns, serve as a resource on technical and complex tax issues with external and internal groups, provide quality customer service consistent with the agency's mission, and will help ensure that bank franchise taxes are being administered according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition to bank franchise tax analysis, this role will also consist of reviewing and timely processing tax exemption requests from non-profit entities.
This position is located in our Central Office in downtown Richmond, Virginia.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience, up to $60,000.

Minimum Qualifications•Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with localities, industry personnel, and internal support staff•Proven ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and prioritize them effectively•Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices•Experience conducting research and analysis to make determinations and create reports based on findings•Knowledge of and experience with business taxes
Additional Considerations•Ability to perform analysis and research on reports, tax returns, and financial records for bank franchise tax filings•Knowledge of bank franchise tax laws and regulations
