Descriptive Summary

The Stone Polisher is responsible for polishing and finishing edge details on granite, quartz, and other stone slabs, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and a flawless surface. This role focuses on polishing, inspecting, and preparing materials to meet client specifications.

Essential FunctionsPolish, seal, and refine edges on granite, quartz, and other stone slabs to ensure smooth finishes and a high-quality appearance.Inspect stone slabs for cracks, defects, and inaccuracies in cuts before and after polishing.Operate polishing machines, hand tools, and edge polishers to complete stone fabrication according to design specifications.Perform daily inspections of equipment and personal protective gear to ensure safety and functionality.Follow detailed instructions for processing slabs, minimizing waste, damage, or errors that could lead to additional costs.Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability for materials to avoid theft, loss, or unnecessary waste.Conduct product inspections upon completion to verify compliance with quality standards and customer satisfaction.Maintain adherence to all safety protocols, including OSHA and IIPP standards, and use proper safety equipment during operations.Attend required training sessions and maintain accurate daily timecards.Report injuries in accordance with legal requirements and maintain appropriate documentation.Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.0-2 years of related experience in stone polishing or countertop fabrication.Forklift experience preferred.Bilingual abilities are a plus.Intermediate math skills.Knowledge of machines used in stone polishing, including Waterjet Saws, Edge Polishers, CNC machines, and various hand tools.Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with coworkers and customers.Other Requirements

Regular, predictable work attendance is a key requirement.Must be able to follow detailed instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
