Overview:

The Financial Analyst & Underwriter is a key member of our client account team, working closely with the Consultant and Producer to deliver highly competent client service. The Financial Analyst & Underwriter will assist with a variety of projects and assist in guiding clients as they manage all financial aspects of their health and welfare benefits plans.Responsibilities:Review and monitor ongoing plan performance and resulting client deliverablesLead and/or support financial modeling, budgeting, and renewal projectionsRobust knowledge and understanding of financial tools and workbooksAssist with calculation of premium equivalent rates for self-funded clientsSupport benchmarking and data analyticsLead data analysis and due diligence reviews for new business efforts and client projectsSupport key processes and internal activities to deliver client facing servicesApply mathematical concepts in detailed and complex situationsMaintain proper filing processesLead and/or support market review and negotiation for stop loss contracts and renewalsBuild and maintain positive relationships with internal staff as well as external clients, insurance carriers, vendors, and retained subject matter expertsSeek continual growth and expansion of employee benefits and industry knowledgeLead and/or support calculations for regulatory fees (i.e. PCORI)Manage and execute other projects as assignedQualifications:

PA Life and Health License (preferred and maintained as current)Prior Employee Benefits experience required.Bachelors degree or equivalent experienceProven history of self-direction, creativity, and ability to meet deadlinesCritical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with expert knowledge of ExcelStrong rapport building skillsExcellent follow though and attention to detailStrong analytical skills and judgmentExcellent written, communication and presentation skillsEffective time management skills with strong organizational and prioritization abilitiesAbility to work well in a fast paced, high pressure environmentMay require travel to service clientsAbility to work extended hours during peak periods
