The successful candidate must be able to multitask in a diversified work environment, should have a minimum of 5 years' experience of 'hands-on' injection mold maintenance and similar experience dealing in plastic polymers.Qualifications required:Must have a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environmentMust have ability to use tool room equipment such as grinders and millsMust be capable of working on molds and making tight tolerances partsMust able to comprehend part and tool printsInjection mold dis-assemble/assembly and perform general mold maintenanceSelf-motivated, good organizational skill, team playerMust be able to follow safety guidelines on the production floorTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair tooling problems on the production floor, identify and implement tooling improvements5+ years' hands-on work experience in Injection MoldingDie maker or machinist certificateContinuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO 9001:2008 certified companyEssential functions and responsibilities:Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvementRepairs and re-builds injection molds by arranging for welding and rework, machining, polishing and finishing to required surface finishFits and assembles parts and tests completed molds for proper operationVerifies conformance of repaired injection molds or related tooling to specification by checking dimension, clearances and alignments using various test equipment, consistently working to close tolerancesAble to read and understand mold drawings * Recommend mold design changesKeep inventory of spare parts at an appropriate level and well organizedOperates a variety of machine tools, such as drill press, surface grinder to prescribed dimension and surface finish. May cut, mill, grind or otherwise repair work piece to prescribed dimension and finishOperates crane to remove and/or relocate molds to specific workstations/areasHave a valid Forklift licenseProvides general maintenance and cleanup of all Tool room equipmentParticipates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an on-going basisProficient in written and verbal communication skillsCoordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair and maintenanceRespond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutionsMaintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance and repair for tooling and equipmentImplement and manage all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipmentMaintains product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systemsReport any potential food safety, legality, quality, or food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnelFollow all documented Good Manufacturing PracticesMust follow all company policies and proceduresNon-essential skills and experience:Other duties as requiredSuccess factors/job competencies:Team playerProblem solving skillsAbility to manage projects and follow throughPhysical demands and work environment:Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
