Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extensions up to March 15, 2025 Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: NC or Compact license required at the start Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - Experience with intermediate level cardiac patients, post-cardiac intervention, and titration of cardiac medications. Job Description: - Provide care for higher-level cardiac patients, including post catheterizations and cardiac interventions. - Manage cardiac medications such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone, and Lasix, including titration. - Initiate Betapace and Tikosyn treatments. - Care for orthopedic patients post-operatively or manage med-surg overflow when necessary. - Perform telemetry monitoring for cardiac dysrhythmias, STEMI, CHF, and ACS patients. - Work with an average daily census of 16 patients, with potential fluctuations based on unit needs. - Float to other units as needed, based on skills and census requirements. - Comfortable with a patient ratio target of 1:4-5, subject to change based on surges. - Respond to potential COVID-19 patient care needs. - Required to work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays. - Complete required modules prior to starting and must pass EKG testing. - Attend a 24-hour orientation. - Communicate using the SBAR method. - Utilize Pyxis for medication management and EPIC for documentation. - Adhere to fatigue policy, ensuring no more than five consecutive workdays and no more than 60 hours within a week. - Wear navy and white scrubs combination. Note: Up to 7 days of requested time off can be auto-approved, except during holidays or the first week of assignment.
