The Role

The Asset Protection Specialist is the gatekeeper for our retail stores. We're looking for someone who is just as passionate as we are about keeping all employees, patients and/or customers, and visitors safe. In this role, you will be responsible for the security of all our assets and property in the dispensary as well as the regulation of access to our premises.

ResponsibilitiesProtect individuals, property, and proprietary information from harm or misappropriationProtect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, trespassing, fire, and accidentsObserve and report any unlawful activityControl access to premisesInvestigate and take the appropriate lawful actions on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activity, safety, and fireNeutralize situations calmly with tact and common senseWatch for safety and fire hazards and other related situationsEnforce policies and procedures of the companyAid customers, employees, visitors, or the public as necessaryPerform requests by the customers within scope of security duties or within reasonTrain new security hires, and inform other staff of security procedures and policiesQualifications

Criminal Justice Degree, or relevant experience preferredMeet the scheduling and availability requirements (i.e., ability to work a schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as mornings, days, nights, and weekends) to meet business needsMust have reliable, responsible, and dependable attendanceMust be 21 years or olderMust pass all required background checks including state-specific cannabis employment requirementsPossess a valid driver's license or state ID.Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.Additional Requirements

Must have the ability to perform the following tasks for prolonged periods of time (i.e., up to the duration of a workday):

Move about the dispensary in order to fulfill work assignments and assist employees and patients and/or customers in various locations of the dispensaryRemain in a stationary position, if required, up to and including in an office setting, to meet the needs of the business and complete asset protection duties timelyConverse and communicate with individuals and groups of people directlyOperate point of sale system, computer, and other office productivity machinery in order to use online programming and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and emailInspect and receive detailed information, such as patients' and/or customers' dates of birth, in-store or online orders, or inquiriesMove and place products and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independentlyPosition self to move products and materials, as requiredSkills

Training in firefighting, first aid or lifesaving drillsMilitary, law enforcement, or security background a plusConsistent demonstration of excellent customer service skillsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employeesAbility to listen well and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with various audiencesPrevious experience with POS systemsUnderstanding of applicable cannabis laws and regulations, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, and standard operating proceduresBe able to follow instructions as directed and incorporate constructive criticism from managersOperate with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements.Working Conditions
