Hanover Foods Corporation located in Hanover PA is currently seeking a
Quality Assurance Inspector
on third shift. This position is primarily responsible for a variety of functions in the plant and/or laboratory by locating, reporting, and initiating action to correct factors that affect product quality, plant sanitation and/or housekeeping.

Primary responsibilitiesDuring Finished Product evaluations, routinely checks for problems that may occur during production regarding the quality of the product or its container; records and reports same to Production and Quality Assurance management.Works closely with USDA Inspectors and is cooperative at all times.Works closely with Production and Warehousing personnel to assure proper placement and correct assignments of quality of product.Observes and reports to Quality Assurance management on the effectiveness of cleanup within the manufacturing areas pointing out specific problem areas in a timely manner.Takes required action to maintain good housekeeping and overall appearance of the plant labs.Knows where quality standards and product specifications are listed and applies same where needed.Draws samples during production for Cutting Bees, customer programs or co-pack plans, as required.Standardizes pH meters daily and keeps appropriate logs.Routinely checks finished product analysis in the laboratory to review quality and effectiveness of material usage (yields) whenever assigned to finished product.Performs can seam tear downs at regular intervals and records measurements. Compares with specifications and works with Supervisor/Coordinator and/or Seamer Mechanic for possible adjustments.Checks and records values for chlorination levels on dry ban transport water.Grades seasonal incoming raw product as required.Performs other related assignments as required by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Qualifications
1 year of experience working in food processing and/or Quality Assurance is desirableStrong communication skills•Basic math skills necessary
•Ability to communicate clearly.
•Ability to work well with all types of people including fellow employees and management.
•Ability to pay attention to detail and be accurate and efficient in record keeping.
