Job Title: CNC Programmer Tooling Engineer
Job Description
Responsible for the conception and design of dies, fixtures, and essential production aids and templates as required to support manufacturing efforts.Hard SkillsDesign and build tooling to meet fabrication needsMaintain digital/electronic dataProgram and operate CNC equipmentAnalyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimension and configuration of cutsSelect cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed ratesEvaluate tool designs and coordinate with engineering for changesAnalyze and design machine holding fixtures for partsCompute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvaturesPrepare geometric layout using MasterCAM softwareWrite instruction sheets, check sheets, and cutter listsWrite programs for multi-axis CNC milling machines/routersResolve CNC program and manufacturing issues with all relevant departmentsPerform cost analysis and tradeoff improvement studiesCreate operation sheets, tool drawings, and detail drawingsSoft SkillsSupport manufacturing and other departments as an internal customerWork effectively within a small office team and a larger manufacturing floor teamAdaptability to work on the manufacturing floor and in the officeJob Type

This is a fully on-site position in Santa Clarita, California.Work Environment
Will work with the manufacturing floor, requiring flexibility to move between the office for design work and the floor to ensure tooling is functioning properly. The team is small in the office but tight-knit, with many colleagues on the manufacturing floor.About Actalent
