The mission of the Inspector is to identify, correct, and prevent quality defects from purchased material within company safety guidelines.

The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and is occasionally required to lift up to and in excess of 100 pounds. Work also involves climbing up to 4-6 feet using ladders or raising up to 50 feet using a powered industrial truck. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Personal Protection Equipment may be required in this role. The position is considered Safety Sensitive.

Responsibilities:Responsible for internal and external defect preventionVerify product conformances based on visual inspection, dimensional measurement, and performance measurementFunction within the guidelines of the latest issue of the Quality Management System ProcedureManual and Quality Work Instruction. Requirements include documentation and recommendation, verification of product conformance, validating engineering design to identify root causes of the non-conformanceInteraction with all inspection areas to identify and prevent recurrence of non-conforming material is necessaryMust understand product requirements, product specifications, and applicable reference standards.Evaluate product requirements and recommend changes when applicableVerify calibration of instruments are within expiration dateDetect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditionsFollow prescribed safety regulations / guidelinesPerform other duties as required or directedComplete appropriate documentation for rejected partsInteract with suppliers and purchasing to explain defects and to improve quality of material deliveredRequirements:

High School diploma or GEDASQ Certification and computer skill proficiencyMechanical Assembler (Heavy Equipment) (preferred in Drilling Industry)Welder or (Machinist) experienceCalibrated instruments, mechanical tool, engineering drawing and blueprint readingRequired to read, write and comprehend EnglishMust be able to work with minimum level of supervisionWork with the internal organization and suppliers to come up with proposals to further improve quality or efficiency to produce high quality parts.Working knowledge of receiving and production process, and Quality Management System (ISO9001:2000 based)Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. unassisted.Able to work overtimeAble to stand for extended periods- 8 hours min.Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.Background in manufacturing techniques machining, fabrication, and weldingAbility to read engineering drawings (blueprint)Effective communication skills, both internally and with suppliers.Requires strong writing, administrative, and analysis skills.Effective Root Cause Analysis skills to perform corrective and preventive action.Computer skills required - Infor M3, WMS, Reject System, Calibration System, MS Office Suite, e-mail, Access database development and data extractionPCR and Deviation process, Calibration process, and Quality PlansInspection capability - machining tolerances - and Brunell Hardness Tester.Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficienciesUnderstands and adheres to ISO 9001Read and understand all drawing criteria, GD&T, notes and tolerances5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentBenefits:
