** Lifeguard****Job Category****:** Resident Care & Laborers **Requisition Number****:** LIFEG005295 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description**Hethwood Pools is seeking lifeguards to join our team for the summer.Lifeguards will perform the following duties under the direction and supervision of the Head Lifeguard:**Responsibilities*** Be punctual when reporting for duty.* Prevent accidents and maintain order in the pool as far as possible through the enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct of persons using the swimming pool.* Constantly be on the lookout for accidents occurring in the water, on the deck, or on diving equipment.* Assist persons in trouble, administer first aid to the injured, and activate the emergency action plan in case of serious accidents.* Continuous maintenance of the pool area will be performed while on duty. Take chemical readings every other hour (wading pool and main pool) and record on logbook. Make necessary adjustments.* Guards must be able to attend in-service training sessions and meetings upon request.* Perform other duties as requested by the Resident Manager, Aquatic Director, Assistant Aquatic Director or Head Guard.* Maintain order in the pool and as far as possible, anticipate trouble and take steps to prevent it.* Enforce and adhere to all rules and regulations of the pool.* Call Head Lifeguard or Assistant Aquatic Director if assistance in maintaining discipline of swimmers is needed.* Guards will rotate stations on a regular basis and have gate duty/and or facility maintenance duties.* Be friendly, helpful, and cheerful to all pool patrons and fellow employees in the performance of duties.* Assist in the program of instruction and special events when requested by Head Guard, Assistant Aquatics Director, Aquatics Director or Resident Manager.* Report definite or potential physical hazards and unsafe conditions to Head Lifeguard.* Maintain an acceptable appearance, both in uniform and personal hygiene at all times.* Administer swim tests to children under the age of 12.* Respond to resident's problems/concerns with the utmost courtesy and tact.
