WELDEROverview:Leslie Controls, Inc., a leader in the valve manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Welderto join our Tampa, FL team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of welding, brazing, hard facing, and fabrication tasks. This role requires advanced knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment, as well as the ability to interpret and execute engineering drawings. The Welder III will play a critical role in ensuring that all fabricated products meet our high standards for quality and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Welding and Fabrication: Weld and fabricate standard valve bodies and components according to engineering drawings, using a variety of welding processes including GTAW.Work Order Analysis: Review and analyze Work Orders and Engineering Drawings to determine materials needed and sequence of operations.Welding Process Execution: Execute welding processes such as weld positioning, filler metal selection, preheat/interpass, purging, and post-weld heat treatment in line with approved procedures.Quality Inspection: Inspect completed welds or consult with Inspection team to ensure compliance with specified standards.Documentation: Accurately document weld activities and completion status in line with Work Order requirements.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all welding safety protocols, including monitoring the work environment for potential hazards.Tool Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment, ensuring all tools and machines are in proper working order.Material Preparation: Cut tubing to specified sizes and wash parts using ultrasonic cleaners to ensure oil-free components ready for welding.Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, contributing to overall productivity and quality.Required Qualifications:Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of various materials including low-carbon steels, stainless steels, and alloys. Proficiency in the TIG welding process and welding with positioners or jigs. Knowledge of cast, forged, pipe, and plate materials in both annealed and hardened conditions.Certification: GTAW certification is required; brazing certification and experience with preheating/post-weld heat treatment are advantageous.Experience: 2 to 30 years of relevant welding experience is acceptable.ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems for logging time and maintaining welder logs.Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required due to job-specific regulations.Why Leslie Controls?Leslie Controls, Inc. is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
