Perform routine quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished productsPrepare test solutions, compounds, or reagents for laboratory personnelEvaluates and develops methods and instrument-operations for accuracy and precision, including participation in method validation studiesPerforms analytical testing in accordance with USP/NF, EP, BP and JP Pharmacopeias, compendiums or other Standard Testing Methods (STMs)Conducts qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical testingEvaluates materials for compliance to standards and specificationsCreates proper laboratory records in accordance to cGMP and company Standard Operating Procedures and PoliciesReviews and analyzes test results for reliabilityOperates laboratory equipment, such as analytical balances, pH meters, HPLC, GC, UV, IR, Dissolution, Wet Chemistry equipment, Disintegration apparatus, etc.Issues Certificate of Analysis for finish products, bulk and raw materials, as assignedParticipates in the training of new personnel in the laboratory, as assigned.Conducts investigations of Out of Specification (OOS) or unexpected resultsMaintains the laboratory clean and organizePerform all other tasks that will be oriented by QC management as requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and proceduresWorks frequently in a lab environment, handling of chemicalsEmployees are required to wear eye protection and lab coats while in the lab areaAbility to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbsAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbsAbility to regularly stand, sit, and walk to perform tasksQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree in Chemical or Biological discipline3-5 years of pharmaceutical/cGMP regulated industry experienceExperience with various laboratory equipment, such as analytical balances, pH meters, HPLC, GC, UV, IR, Dissolution, Wet Chemistry equipment, Disintegration apparatus, etc.Knowledge of current SCM concepts and principlesHighly organized and flexible with the ability to multitask and meet changing deadlinesGood written English and verbal communication skillsProficient in computer applicationsKnowledge of cGMPs and FDASearch words: QC, QC Chemist, Chemist, raw materials, in-process, finished product, HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, dissolution, FDA, pharmaceuticals, GMP, physical testing, analytical testing , Scientist
