Position Overview:We're on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented

Contract Surety Underwriter

to join our Sacramento branch. Reporting to the Bond Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our underwriting processes are both effective and enjoyable, aligning with our company goals while making meaningful connections along the way.

Key Responsibilities:Underwriting:Underwrite bonds within your authority limit and make thoughtful recommendations to management to meet our profitability and loss objectives.

Relationship Building:Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency personnel and service agents to enhance our marketing efforts.Collaborate with colleagues to deliver efficient and enjoyable underwriting services to our agents.

Market Awareness:Stay current on changes in economic conditions, legal developments, agency personnel, and competitors' underwriting plans to keep us ahead of the game.

Implementation of Changes:Implement underwriting changes as directed by management or Home Office underwriters to ensure ongoing profitability and compliance, all while making the process smooth and clear.

Coaching and Mentoring:Assist in coaching and mentoring Associate Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants, fostering a positive and productive working environment.

Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is required.Minimum of one year of related experience in underwriting, preferably within the surety or insurance industry.
