Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team in various accounting functions. This role requires a diligent and analytical professional who can contribute to the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions within a dynamic private equity environment.
Responsibilities:General Accounting:Assist in the day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Portfolio Company Accounting:Support the accounting processes for portfolio companies, including financial statement analysis and reporting.Collaborate with finance teams at portfolio companies to gather relevant financial data.
Financial Analysis:Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.Assist in the preparation of financial models and forecasts.
Audit Support:Work closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.Provide documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.
Compliance:Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.Stay updated on accounting standards and industry best practices.
Cash Management:Assist in the management of cash transactions, including reconciliations and forecasting.Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimal financial performance.
Reporting:Generate and distribute regular financial reports to internal stakeholders.Assist in the preparation of investor reports.
Ad Hoc Projects:Contribute to special projects as assigned by the finance leadership team.Provide support for process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
