Registered Nurse - PICU @ Providence Alaska Medical Center

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable 3x12 Hour Shifts (Days and Nights) Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks Experience: Minimum of 1 year PICU experience; First-time travelers accepted License: State RN license (pending license accepted) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Skills in PICU, telemetry, central line care, PICC line management, ICP monitoring, chest tube management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation. Job Description: - Work within a Level 2 PICU in an acute hospital setting.- No ECMO, open heart surgery, transplants, or CRRT.- Function in a Magnet facility recognized for excellence in nursing.- Chart using Epic systems.- Participate in a team-oriented environment and float within the hospital as needed.- Weekend work required; must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.- Engage in a comprehensive 40-hour orientation.- Complete required pre-start modules and annual training as part of onboarding.- All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within a given state as necessary.- Maintain open communication and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
