Addison Group Los Angeles seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to join an ever-evolving manufacturing company located in the Santa Clarita Valley to support the accounting team.

Job

- You will perform various cost accounting duties, including inventory valuation, project accounting, and financial reporting.

Job Site Status (online/hybrid/remote)

- Our client has a hybrid work schedule of three (3) days per week.

Compensation/Benefits

- Salary range is $100,000-$130,000/year. The hired professional will receive a quarterly bonus as well as the usual health benefits.

SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT TASKS

Cost Accounting•Use the company's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) cost accounting system to work with revenue, gross margin, inventory, and variance analysis.•Calculate Purchase Price Variance (PPV) between projected and actual cost of purchasing materials.•Prepare monthly Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports.•Work on inventory controls and product costing.•Analyze inventory valuation discrepancies and correct them.•Value inventory.•Oversee physical/cycle counting.•Prepare reports for management (fixed assets reporting and balance sheet schedules, including prepaids and accruals).•Prepare month-end reports such as income statement, balance sheet, and other financial reports.•Create inventory estimates on an annual basis.•Support the team in inventory reconciliation.•Participate in preparation of annual budget and periodic forecasts.•Develop financial forecasting models and complex pricing models in Excel regarding costing.•Analyze gross margin, other cost of sales, inventory trends, turnover ratios, and production yield data.•Prepare inventory and manufacturing variances forecasts.•Improve financial reporting tools.

SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS

Required•Bachelors in accounting, or equivalent work experience•At least three (3) years of work experience in the cost accounting field•Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment•Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)•Comprehensive understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)

Preferred•A CPA or MBA•Public company experience

Required

Technical•Advanced-level Excel proficiency•Exposure to large ERP systems
