This skilled position is ideal for someone seeking to further their career in the manufacturing industry. This role requires a strong understanding of woodworking techniques, tools, and safety practices. The role involves working with a variety of materials, including laminates and solid surfaces requiring strong attention to detail.Primary Responsibilities:•Works under moderate supervision to ensure projects meet customer specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.•Provide guidance and support to Wood Shop team members.•Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, sanders, planers, lathes, and routers to cut, shape, and smooth wooden parts.•Assemble wooden components using hand tools, glue, nails, screws, and clamps, ensuring precise alignment and fit.•Apply stains, varnishes, paints, or other finishes to wood products, ensuring an even and smooth application.•Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production of wood products.•Select, measure, and cut wood and other materials according to specifications.•Perform routine maintenance on woodworking equipment, ensuring tools are in good working order.•Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment.•Inspect finished products for quality, adjusting, as necessary, to meet the required standards.•Monitor and manage inventory of wood, hardware, and other materials, reporting shortages or needs to supervisors.Required Skills:•High School diploma or equivalent.•Minimum of 5+ years' experience in cabinetry and/or woodworking field.•Must possess the following skill sets:o Mechanical Aptitudeo Read tape measure and protractoro Use air and electric hand toolso Ability to solve complex issueso Learn the job quickly•Must be safety conscious with good housekeeping skills.•Strong attention to detail and precision.•Must effectively communicate and present interpretations of work.•Maintain a positive attitude towards team members and other departments.•Displays initiative to learn and to take on more responsibilities.•Ability to learn to operate forklift.•Ability to work successfully within a team and as an individual contributor.•Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred:•Experience in a custom wood shop environment.•Associate's degree in Carpentry or similar field, 2 years Vocational High School Carpentry program and/or completion of a Cabinetry or related Certification program.Physical Requirements:•Physically able to use Respiratory protection, as needed.•Physically able to stand up to 8+ hours per day.•Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs.•Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.•Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus.•Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.•Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.Craftsmen Industries (and its subsidiaries) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
