Overview:
A stagehand is a person who works backstage or behind the scenes in theatres, film, television, or location performance. Their work include setting up the scenery, lights, sound, props, rigging, and special effects for a production.This role will pay an hourly wage of $16 to $18.00.For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.Applications are accepted on an ongoing basisResponsibilities:Assist in setup, teardown, and loading of venues for events, conferences, and conventions; set up stage, lighting, sound, and special effects systemsClean and maintain staging areas and /or staging equipmentCoordinate with event production and management staff to ensure that all staging, equipment, and facilities are set up properlyManually lift and move all staging, rigging, lighting, and special effectsPerform other duties as assignedMust provide your own crescent wrench and multi-toolQualifications:
Knowledge of theater construction and riggingExcellent communication skillsAbility to deal with the public, guests, and employees in a highly stressful environmentAbility to schedule in advance, work nights/holidays/weekends, show up on time with a positive attitude
