Staff Accountant
Position Summary:
Reports directly to the Assistant Controller. Primarily responsible for assigned account reconciliations, journal entries, adjusting entries and accruals.Additionally, will actively participate in month end close.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly journal entries - standard, accruals, adjusting, etc.Assist with monthly accruals for multiple accounts.Reconcile various balance sheet accounts as assigned.Responsible for business license renewals for multiple stores.Calculate and file sales tax monthly and quarterly.Prepare and file CRV monthly.Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
Job Requirements:
Education:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or in business with concentration in accounting.Experience:
Any Accounting experience is a plus.Knowledge:
Technical skills in applying US GAAP rules are a plus.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.Skills and Ability:
This position requires a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingDemonstrated numerical aptitude required - ability to multi-task and willingness to learn.Other skills that are important include: building rapport with management, analytical skills to identify the source of issues and strong organizational skills to be able to manage areas of responsibility and projects effectively and efficiently.
Salary Range: $60 - $70 K
