gel coat operator
to join our successful growing team.
As a gel coat operator you will be responsible for applying gel coat to molds according to specifications and production schedule, ensuring color, finish and thicknesses are adhered to.

Perform gel coating of hulls, deck molds, and small parts according to production ordersClean, maintain, and test gel coating equipment to ensure it operates as requiredMaintain a clean and environmentally safe work areaEnsure high quality of all work donePossess the desire and ambition to work safely at all timesInitiate and recommend process improvementsPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirements
Minimum of 1 year experience in gel coating open moldsProficient use of hand tools and operating a chopper and gel coat gunKnowledge and experience in the preparation, evaluation, and application of coating systems.Experience with solvents, gel coats, and release agentsAbility to maintain and adjust gel coat equipmentAbility to pass respirator fit testAbility to follow verbal instructions and follow production scheduleAbility to train others on essential functions of jobKnowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposalPositive attitude, high dependability and promotion of good moraleWorking knowledge of procedures , instructions, and documents as it relates to company quality standards, and written skillsReliable transportation, and good attendance are essential and requiredAbility to work independently in fast-paced, ever changing environmentWork Environment:
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment and requires exposure to chemicals such as gel coat, acetone, etc. This role routinely wears protective clothing and masks. The lamination area is not air conditioned and requires working during hot humid weather.Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated,Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.You will be required to lift, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb stairs, reach, grasp, grip, push, pull, and spend entire working hours on your feet. Requires lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. A gel coat operator must be able to hold spray gun for an extended period of time while in continuous motion of left to right and up and down.
