Summary:Part-Time -24 hours weekly

Provides respiratory care to patients during emergency ground and/or air transport.

Additional Information:

3 years of experience Neonatal/Pediatric ICU or Pediatric ED experience required.

Varied Days/Hours (12 hour shifts)

Training required in Little Rock

Position located in Jonesboro

Required Education:Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience

Required Certifications:Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP): (AR) - Arkansas State Medical Board, Must obtain C-NPT within 24 months of hire - C-NPT - NCC, Must obtain NREMT-Basic within 18 months of hire - NREMT-Basic-NREMT, Must obtain Transport EMT within 18 months of hire - EMT-ADH, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Basic "EMT" (NREMT-Basic) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), Neonatal Pediatric Transport (C-NPT) - NCC, Transport - EMT - AR - Arkansas Department of Health

Description

1. Provides safe and effective patient care addressing age specific variations related to growth, development,, and cultural needs of the patient.

2. Communicates patient care plans effectively with all involved team members.

3. Coordinates and prioritizes care with other health care team members and initiates action prior to and during transport based on patient acuity, time limitations, and consultation with physician to prevent current or potential risk to a patient in an emergency situation.

4. Supports patient safety initiatives and maintains infection control and an environment that is conducive to patient safety care while on transport.

5. Assists Transport RN with recognition, reporting, recording, and re-evaluating changes in pertinent patient information or condition.

6. Maintains all transport equipment in a state of readiness by checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift, noting any discrepancy and contacting appropriate personnel to ensure equipment is evaluated and/or repaired.

7. Completes educational activities to maintain and increase competency for self and recommends education resources and learning activities for staff members.

8. Participates in formal benchmarking activities; and references literature and list-serves to identify best practices that may be applicable to the clinical program.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.
