Position Overview:

The Financial Analyst in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function plays a critical role in aligning financial strategies with business objectives across designated business units (Corporate, Legal, Finance, IT and HR). This role acts as a strategic advisor to business leaders, ensuring financial data drives key business decisions. They function as a business partner to collaborate closely with the FP&A team to provide in-depth financial analysis, forecasts, and insights that support the overall financial health and growth of the organization.

Position Responsibilities:FP&A and Business Partnering :

Provide financial analysis and partner with the assigned business unit(s) to:

Create and enter budgets into Workday Adaptive Insights including capital expenditures, workforce planning, allocations and operating expensesManage expense accruals, management reporting, budget versus actual variance analysis, and actual versus prior year variance analysisPrepare account reconciliations relevant to the business unit(s) (i.e. accrued Corporate expenses, etc)Prepare and present results to assigned business unit(s), Finance, and executive leadershipProactive review and adjustments to forecast; understand and analyze impact to important financial metricsAct as the primary financial advisor to business unit leaders, helping them understand financial implications of business decisions.Provide financial guidance and recommendations to drive business performance and achieve financial targets.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and business strategies.Support business units in identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and revenue growth.Participate in the strategic planning process, providing financial expertise to shape long-term business strategies.Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.Develop financial models to support business cases and strategic initiatives.Partner with Technical Accounting and Legal to analyze and influence complex contract proposals.Challenge and develop process and methodologies that push for improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our reporting and analysisProvide ad-hoc analyses and other project support to the assigned business unit(s) leadership teams (i.e. Corporate scenario planning, IT and HR business planning, etc).Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.Minimum 4-5 years' finance experience with increasing levels of responsibility.FP&A experience with commercial bio-tech or pharmaceutical organization preferredCommunicates concisely and effectively through written and verbal communication.Experience in a high-growth, global organization a plus.Limited travel may be required.In-depth proficiency in aspects of accounting/finance and knowledge of US GAAP is required.In depth knowledge of Planning and ERP systems (Workday Adaptive Insights, Microsoft Navision, and SAP a plus).In depth knowledge Business Intelligence a plus (Qlik).Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including demonstrated experience using Excel to build and maintain complex financial models as well as perform financial and data analysis.Ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis and cost-effective solutions.Comfortable working with very sensitive data and able to maintain a high degree of discretion.Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
