Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced

Senior Cost Accountant

to join our finance team reporting directly to the Site Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting, including government and manufacturing cost accounting processes. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate cost analysis, financial planning, and decision-making support for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Provide insightful analysis of variances and their impact on profitability. Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations. Support budgeting and forecasting activities for manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with government regulations concerning cost accounting standards (CAS) and government contract requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiencies. Conduct ongoing cost accounting education and training for finance and operational teams. Assist in periodic financial reporting and audits by external auditors, financial institutions, and applicable governmental entities Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 6+ years proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of government cost accounting standards (CAS) and regulations. Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Detail-oriented and highly organized with a commitment to accuracy.
