What We SeekWe are looking for a Manager, Property Tax to join our practice in Oklahoma City. The right person brings experience, expertise, and an unrelenting drive to improve cash flows for clients.You will need to have a self-driven, conscientious mentality with a commitment to creating innovations through high-quality work.
What Your Day Will Look LikeThe Manager works with the consulting team to provide high-level service to clients through accurate data analysis and industry-leading results throughout the property tax cycle. They have a keen eye on details and an intuition to see things others don't. In general, you can expect to:
Perform detail reviews of asset data and supporting documentation for determining proper valuations for purposes of quantifying tax assessmentsReview and manage client contract terms, scope of services and fees. Oversee client billing and ensures timely collection of receivablesManipulate and analyze raw data from various accounting and reporting systemsProactively secure tax abatements and exemptionsAddress complexities and issues that arise from client operationsManage the preparation, review and processing of tax documents for clientsMaintain direct contact with clients and various appraisal districtsContinuously develop tax expertise, analytical capabilities, and soft skillsYou're perfect for this role if you:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or similar fieldFour to six years of experience in a consulting firm (Big Four is a plus!)Strong Excel skills (bonus points if you know keyboard shortcuts)TDLR License or other certification/designation (e.g. CMI)Experience in the energy industry is preferredWhat We ProvideAt Merit, we ask a lot of our employees, which is why we give so much in return.
