Job Description

We’re looking for a Manager, Business Communications to support the development and execution of communications strategies that advance enterprise storytelling priorities and inspire the McDonald’s System to action. This will be a critical role reporting to the Director, Global Business & Employee Communications.

Responsibilities:

Business Milestones: Develop integrated communications strategies and creation of materials for milestone announcements that affect McDonald’s business and brand, including leading a cross functional communications team and developing key assets like Q&As, talking points, key messages, and cascades

Financial and Investor Communications: Support the script development and communications planning on behalf of the CEO & Chairman for key financial and governance engagements, including but not limited to quarterly Earnings calls, Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, and McDonald’s Annual Report.

Enterprise Storytelling:

Partner with communicators and other cross-functional partners to develop and execute communication plans and materials that drive alignment and action against short and long-term priorities among franchisees, employees and suppliers.

Serve as a strategic advisor, cultivating trusted partnerships with business leaders and their teams.

Identify, train, and deploy leadership and SMEs across McDonald’s global markets to communicate our enterprise business strategy to protect the brand’s reputation.

Qualifications:Qualifications

BA/BS degree required

Prior corporate communications experience – both in strategy development and in execution

Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an eye to tailor messaging for a range of internal and external communication channels and audience types

Excellent verbal communications skills, including presenting in larger forums

Experience advising and working with senior executives

Intermediate business literacy required, including digesting quarterly Earnings reports, annual reports, quarterly business reviews, and other public and investor documents. Experience supporting financial communications needs such as earnings and shareholder communications is a plus.

Ability to navigate, orchestrate, and work through complex issues with a strategic, tactical, and fresh perspective

Proven ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and support multiple high priority work streams and at times, with ambiguous undefined circumstances

Self-starter with strong sense of initiative and focused on results

Effective collaborator who will work cross functionally across teams and geographies/ time-zones.
