Overview:
Traveling Dental Assistant - OrthodonticsSummary: The Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards. This position will mainly focus on taking x-rays/photos and maintaining orthodontic patient records.This is a traveling position working in CHOICE's Smile for Kids East, Rio Grande, South Valley and Route 66 offices.At CHOICE Healthcare Services, our mission is to provide everyone access to the healthcare they need. Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.Assists the doctor in proceduresTakes x-raysTakes IO'sAssist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teethInstructs patients on oral hygieneCharts cavities and teeth with doctorSterilizes instrumentsSets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygieneCharting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferredRequired Certificates or Licenses:X-Ray New Mexico certification with license numberBLS certificationPreferred
Certificates or Licenses:Topical Fluoride New Mexico CertificationSealant New Mexico CertificationCoronal Polish New Mexico Certification with License number
