Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed Guaranteed Hours: N/A Experience: 2 years License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS required, NIHSS certification preferred Must-Have: Familiarity with Epic system Job Description: - Float to various areas as needed, including Tele-Stroke, Medical, Surgical, and Rehab units.- Care for patients with COVID-19 and perform tasks such as monitoring, interpreting, and recording electronic displays.- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.- Prepare and administer prescribed medications, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments.- Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs.- Record patient medical information and vital signs accurately and completely.- Initiate corrective action for adverse symptoms and provide patient education as prescribed by the physician.- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.- Respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols.- Participate in discharge planning and utilize time management skills effectively.- Maintain a nicotine-free status, and obtain the flu vaccine between September 7 and April 30 if working within these dates.- This organization will not consider candidates with any history of a suspended license.
