The Quality Inspector is an important member of the Quality team and is responsible for ensuring the quality requirements are implemented and within compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100D:2016 and ISO 9001:2015, FAA 14 CFR Parts 145 and 21, and statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform inspection to ensure compliance with specified requirements at the receiving, in-process, and final stages of the process.

Read instructions, drawings, specifications or sample parts / gauges to determine compliance of dimensions and tolerances of finished work.

Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection on parts to confirm conformity to drawing and other routing instructions. Ensure applicable documentation is complete; ie revision status, router sign off, test reports, and computer data entry.

Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, and go/nogo gauges, etc.

Retrieve information; bills of material, specifications, procedures, and drawings from computerized manufacturing software.

Be responsible for entry, retrieval, and review of data from the Quality Department on-line databases to maintain the QMS & develop process improvements.

Understand WCC policies, procedures, and specifications that are related to Safety and Quality.

Understand requirements of FAA, DCMA, and international standards that apply to quality, as required.

Able to maintain a clean work area, proper storage of chemicals / cleaning agents / precision measuring equipment.

Pass visual acuity test.

Use best practices to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.

Comply with WCC Environmental / Health and Safety requirements. Observe all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and observe all safety requirements such as equipment guards, lifting techniques, slips and falls prevention, etc.

Pass Certified Inspector Qualification in a reasonable time frame.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-3 years related Quality experience and / or training preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
