Position Summary/Scope of Responsibility

The Accounting Manager will be expected to provide a high level of service and exceptional support to client end users in a demanding, fast paced environment. The Accounting Manager's primary responsibility is to oversee the daily operations of the accounting function as well as optimally manage the monthly close cycle and the work of the accounting staff. The Accounting Manager will help to drive good business decisions and maximize the client's financial position through expert management of the function. The Accounting Manager will provide consistent, effective customer service for the accounting function across all assigned clients, and to leverage reports and analytics to support the accounting business needs of the organization. Duties include, but are not limites to: Review or process the following transactions in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with departmental procedures:

Accounts payable Accounts receivable Payroll Expense reports

Manage staff on client engagements to ensure staff utilization is maintained, including prioritizing tasks for projects, establishing budgets, and assigning staff to meet client deadlines. Manage onboarding of new clients onto systems and policies of the finance organization. Assist with cash management activities. Oversee month-end close, prepare monthly and quarterly financial data to include journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement compilation, and reporting. Perform and review operational analysis and reporting, recurring and ad hoc. Assist with the annual budgeting process and ongoing management of the budget. Assist with regulatory compliance to include tax filings, audits, and actuarial reports. Ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP and company standards, researching accounting issues and making recommendations of appropriate accounting treatment. Assist with developing and implementing the accounting policies and procedures of the company. In collaboration with Human Resources, recruit and hire accounting and financial staff and conduct performance evaluations. Manage accounting staff who are responsible for AP, collections, and general accounting. Coach and mentor other junior staff when applicable Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Required Education & Experience Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance required. At least 5 years of related experience, healthcare preferred. CPA certification or CPA eligibility is preferred. Outsources accounting engagement experience preferred. Healthcare or specifically physician practice experience preferred. Financial analysis experience preferred. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel required, as is proficiency with standard office software and applications. Proven experience successfully collaborating across multiple functional areas (Finance/IT/HR/Clinical Leaders). Proven experience successfully innovating in a fast-growing work environment while dealing with ambiguity. Competencies/Required Skills & Abilities

Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when performing desk duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting. Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens.
